VARIABLE TURBINE AREA :-
IN THIS TYPE OF TURBOCHARGER THE THROAT OF THE NOZZLE VANES IS ADJUSTED TO CREATE HIGHER VELOCITY OF EXHAUST GAS OUT OF THE NOZZLE WHICH IMPINGES THE BLADE WITH GREATER FORCE AND REGULATES THE COMPRESSOR OUTPUT.
EACH NOZZLE VAME IS CONNECTED TO A CIRCULAR RING WHICH IS ACTUATED BY A LOW SPEED ELECTRIC MOTOR. VANE POSITION OR PITCH IS ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED. THE INPUT TO CONTROLLER ARE SIGNALS OF CHARGE AIR PRESSURE, EXHAUST GAS TEMPERATURE, BEFORE AND AFTER TURBINE.
