IN A FUEL PUMP SYSTEM THERE ARE 2 TYPES OF LEAD,
- FUEL PUMP LEAD
- FUEL CAM LEAD
IN THIS SECTION WE WILL BE DISCUSSING ABOUT FUEL CAM LEAD.
FUEL CAM LEAD IS DEFINED AS THE NUMBER OF MM THE PLUNGER IS LIFTED FROM ITS BOTTOM POSITION WHEN THE MAIN PISTON IS IN TDC.

PROCEDURE:-
- DISMANTLE PUNCTURE VALVE.
- MAKE SURE THAT REVERSING MECHANISM IS IN AHEAD DIRECTION.
- PUSH DOWN MEASURING PIN THROUGH TOP COVER, UNTIL IT REST AGAINST PUMP PLUNGER.
- TURN THE ENGINE UNTIL THE LOWEST POINT OF THE CAM IS FOUND, USE THE CALIPER TO FIND THE POINT.
- MEASURE DISTANCE X FROM THE TOP OF MEASURING PIN TO TRANSVERSE PIECE. LET IT BE X2.
- TURN AHEAD TILL MAIN PISTON OF CYLINDER CONCERNED IS IN TDC. AGAIN MEASURE DISTANCE X FROM TOP OF MEASURING TOOL TO TRANSVERSE PIECE. LET IT BE X1.
